< Linda J. Mason photo >Linda J. Mason, M.D., is Professor of Anesthesiology and Pediatrics at Loma Linda University and Director of Pediatric Anesthesiology at Loma Linda University Medical Center.

She received her medical degree from Loma Linda University. She was an intern in internal medicine and completed her anesthesiology training at Loma Linda University Medical Center. This was followed by a pediatric anesthesiology and critical care fellowship at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, University of Pennsylvania. She is board certified in Anesthesiology with subspecialty boards in Critical Care Medicine.

Dr. Mason has devoted her career to training and education of pediatric anesthesiologists. She has been active as an educator in continuing medical education with many lectureships and visiting professorships in the United States and abroad. In addition, she has been particularly recognized by both national anesthesiology societies: the American Society of Anesthesiologists and the International Anesthesia Research Society as a refresher course lecturer which defines the body of knowledge in the subspecialty of pediatric anesthesiology. Dr. Mason has written and coauthored many scientific papers, book chapters, and been an editor for books and journals that have allowed pediatric anesthesiology to grow as an important subspecialty of anesthesiology. Her most recent academic appointment was to the Association of University Anesthesiologists in May 2005.

Currently, in addition to Dr. Mason's primary academic appointment, she is Chief Medical Officer for the medical staff at Loma Linda University Medical Center. This has evolved following her being President of the Medical Staff from 1997-1999. She is also the Vice-President at Loma Linda University for Compliance Operations.

Dr. Mason served the California Society of Anesthesiologists as President of the Society from May 2004 thru May 2005. She . is currently the ASA Assistant Secretary.
